Life Updates!!

So a lot has happened since our last blog post! We had a baby, bought a new boat, sold our old boat, and spent the summer on Lake Huron!

We bought a boat!

Last fall we took the plunge and bought our “live aboard” boat! Although we (unfortunately) don’t live on it yet it is our plan to move on full time ASAP!

Cairngorm (future name to be Roner) is a 36 foot Canadian Sailcraft (CS36t). We had our eyes on CS 36s for a while and this one came up for sale so we thought we would take a look! (No harm in looking, right?)

Well, we fell in love and we knew that after we had our baby we would both be taking our parental leave in the following summer. Having that time off would would allow us to spend a good few months on the boat as a family, so we decided why not?!

We had a baby!

A couple months after our boat purchase we had a daughter, Eve, born November 2022. It’s been a very fun, rewarding, but also challenging, time!

We Got to Work!

When summer finally arrived we loaded up our cars and headed to Port Elgin, Ontario, where we purchased our boat and had a slip for the summer. In classic boat fashion a “should only take a week or two” couple small projects turned into a solid 2 months of hard work by mostly Adam and amazing upgrades to our beautiful boat.

We Set Sail!

At the end of August we finally set sail and spent about a month and a half sailing up to the North Channel and Georgian Bay!
